A Midsummer Night's Dream description

Regent's Park Open Air Theatre is the ideal setting for a slice of popular Shakespeare comedy. This is Midsummer Night's Dream as you've never seen it before, played out against a magical forest-like set where the audience follows the cast as they move around the space, with the summer sky above and the sound of London's birdsong accompanying the plot. The story includes several subplots revolving around the marriage of Theseus and Hippolyta.

Shakespeare wrote this ever-popular play way back in 1595-6, more than 430 years ago, and it still draws crowds. Typical Shakespearean themes of love, desire, transformation, chaos, delusion, misunderstanding, and magic unfold when the complex love triangle between Hermia, Lysander, and Demetrius develops, with all sorts of subplots to keep you amused. This time around, it's a blissful new production directed by Atri Banerjee (The Glass Menagerie, Julius Caesar), with gorgeous folk-inspired music composed by Maimuna Memon (Portia Coughlan, The Grapes of Wrath). Now's your chance to see The Bard's spellbinding comedy in a setting like no other, in one of London's best-loved green spaces.
