Blue Man Group description

About the Show

In Blue Man Group, three bald, blue-painted characters who never speak explore the world through music, comedy and play. Performing original music on custom-made instruments, they move through a sequence of percussion numbers and comic scenes and regularly bring audience members into the show. With no dialogue at all, it can be followed by audiences of any language.

Blue Man Group began in New York in 1987 and opened at the Astor Place Theatre in 1991, where it ran for more than 30 years and won an Obie Award and a Drama Desk Award for Unique Theatrical Experience. The group held a London residency at the New London Theatre from 2005 to 2007 and appeared at the London Palladium in 2024. The World Tour production mixes new routines with classic material and brings back the "Rockstar", a multi-instrumentalist with blue hair. The show is open to ages 4 and over.

Cast and Creatives

The show was created by Chris Wink, Matt Goldman and Phil Stanton, who first performed together as street artists on Manhattan's Lower East Side. Blue Man Group has been part of Cirque du Soleil since 2017.

The cast is not billed by name: three performers from the company play the Blue Men, alongside the "Rockstar".

Why You Should Watch It
