Copenhagen description
It is rare to see physics taking a starring role in a drama so good it has already earned a place as one of the late 1900s' greatest plays! This is Copenhagen, back in the capital for the first time since its 1998 London premiere, a brand new production tipped as ingenious and thought-provoking. This long-awaited revival stars award-winners Alex Kingston (ER, Doctor Who) as Margrethe, Damien Molony (Being Human, Brassic) as Heisenberg, and Richard Schiff (The West Wing, The Good Doctor) as Bohr, an all-star celebrity cast to bring an enduring mystery to life.
We know Werner Heisenberg discovered the Uncertainty Principle. We also know he made a mysterious visit to see his old friend and fellow genius Niels Bohr and his wife Margrethe in Copenhagen during 1941. What was the reason behind the visit? Nobody knows, but it has fascinated scientists and historians ever since, and many say there's a dark secret involved. This time around Michael Frayn's multi-award-winning play is directed by Michael Longhurst (Between Riverside and Crazy, Caroline or Change, Gloria). The Designer is Joanna Scotcher, the Lighting Designer is Neil Austin, and the Casting Director is Jim Carnahan CSA. Expect brilliance, and you won't be disappointed.
