Every Brilliant Thing description
Five of the nation's best-loved actors. A story that had the critics in happy tears from the start. A play written by the Olivier Award-nominated Duncan Macmillan (People, Places and Things). All the signs are looking great for Every Brilliant Thing, in the West End for the first time. Lenny Henry, Ambika Mod, Sue Perkins,, Minnie Driver, and the show’s original co-creator Jonny Donahoe take turns to deliver their own takes on the same beloved story, a unique play that has delighted audiences in 80 countries as well as being made into a hit HBO movie.
Prepare to be touched, heart-warmed and inspired as a seven year old boy does everything he can to cheer up his unhappy mum in hospital. As he goes through life, the list of brilliant things he wrote for his mum proves to be just as important to him. You'll leave the venue feeling uplifted, reminded why life is worth living. Co-directed by Jeremy Herrin (Best of Enemies, Wolf Hall Trilogy, Ulster American, A Mirror), Vicki Mortimer is the Set and Costume Designer, with Lighting Design by Jack Knowles, Sound Design by Tom Gibbons and casting by Casting Director Jessica Ronane CDG. A wonderful emotional shot in the arm that'll keep you feeling joyful for a long time afterwards.
