High School Musical description

High School Musical takes over the Troubadour Theatre Wembley Park in a stage version of the Disney Channel Original Movie that turned East High into the most famous fictional school on the planet. Adapted for the stage by David Simpatico, it follows a basketball captain and a science prodigy who discover, to the horror of almost everyone around them, that they can sing. Their decision to audition for the school show sends shockwaves through the cafeteria's carefully policed cliques and forces an entire year group to work out who they actually want to be.

Co-directors Joseph Houston and William Whelton founded Manchester's Hope Mill Theatre and have built a reputation for bold, big-hearted musical stagings, here joined by choreographer Aaron Renfree, musical supervisor Katy Richardson, lighting designer Rory Beaton, costume designer Sophia Pardon and video designer George Reeve, with music adapted and arranged by Bryan Louiselle. Expect wall-to-wall Wildcat energy, choreography built for a huge Wembley stage and a crowd that will not stay in its seats once We're All in This Together kicks in.
