One of eight plays in a series under the wing of Bush Theatre Artistic Director Taio Lawson, his first season in the role, it combines comedy with an intimate exploration of the British-Iraqi refugee experience. Themes of identity and PTSD lead the way along with intergenerational suffering, mental illness, belonging, love, resilience and healing. Described as a warm, witty exploration of generational trauma, it moves the refugee conversation from politics to psychology in a clever blend of humour and emotional honesty.
