Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley description

About the Show

Two years after the close of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, the Bennet family reunites at Pemberley for the festive season. Elizabeth and Jane have the lives everyone expected of them, while Mary, the bookish middle sister, remains the family afterthought. The arrival of Lord Arthur de Bourgh offers her the possibility of a wholly different future.

The play premiered in the United States in 2016 and has been widely produced there since, including a sell-out run in Chicago. This is its UK premiere, presented by Park Theatre and Adam Blanshay Productions in Park200, the theatre's main house in Finsbury Park. It runs two hours and thirty minutes including an interval and carries an age guidance of 12+.

Cast and Creatives

Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley is written by Lauren Gunderson and Margot Melcon. Gunderson is among the most produced living playwrights in the United States, with credits including I and You, Silent Sky and The Revolutionists. Melcon is a dramaturg and producer, and has written several Austen-inspired plays with Gunderson, including The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley.

The director and the cast for the UK premiere are to be announced.

Why You Should Watch It

It is a warm, witty Christmas play that takes Austen's most overlooked character seriously, and the first chance to see it in the UK. Book tickets to spend Christmas at Pemberley with Mary Bennet.
