The Weir description

Sometimes a recipe is so good you know for sure the play's going to be a smash. This is one of those times. The Weir stars the multi-award winning Brendan Gleeson in his West End debut. The winner of the 1999 Olivier for Best New Play, it's written and directed by Conor McPherson (Girl from the North Country, Cold War, Hunger Games Live on Stage). And this is one of the most critically acclaimed Irish plays in three decades. First produced at The Royal Court Theatre Upstairs in July 1997, it opened at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre two years later and has never looked back. That's what we call tasty!

Produced around the world in the US, Ireland, Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Australia and Canada, this beautifully crafted play is packed with atmosphere and mystery, a masterpiece in emotional depth with a spooky supernatural edge. Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin, Harry Potter, Paddington 2) is an Oscar, Bafta and Golden Globe-nominated actor with an Emmy win under his belt, which makes it even more irresistible. The plot? Locals and strangers chat and drink in a remote rural pub in Ireland. As the night gets wilder, the ghost stories turn into something much deeper and darker, then a frightening revelation changes everything. The Weir is produced by Landmark Productions and Kate Horton Productions, and this is a strictly limited season. Don't miss it.
