Aspects of Love description

Aspects of Love was eventually going to be made into a musical, but it took time. Andrew Lloyd Webber discovered the story back in 1979 when he and Tim Rice were approached about writing tunes for a film version of the 1955 novella by David Garnett. But the time wasn’t right and the idea faded away. Roll time forwards to 1983, when there was a stage collaboration with Trevor Nunn in the wind. Again, while Rice and Lloyd-Webber came up with a few songs this time, the project didn’t come to fruition.

Five years later the musical came to vibrant life at long last, produced for the first time in 1989 in a smash West End hit directed by the talented Trevor Nunn and choreographed by the legendary Gillian Lynne. The show opened on 17th April 1989 at the Price of Wales Theatre and as we all know, the rest is history. Now it’s back in a brand new production, beautifully re-imagined for the 2020s.

You’ll know some of the well-loved tunes, simply because they’ve embedded themselves in the psyche of so many of us over the years. Expect a total of 46 songs over two acts, a thrilling plot, and a West End musical experience you’ll remember. Aspects of Love theatre tickets are always hot property, so get ready to buy yours. The show kicks off at the Lyric Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue from 12th May 2023.
