Fallen Angels description

A century ago, Noel Coward's Fallen Angels was staged for the first time, and audiences laughed themselves silly. Now we have computers, electric vehicles, wind turbines, and air travel, and our lives have changed beyond recognition, but Coward's plays are just as hilarious as ever. Its clear human nature remains much the same! The plot goes like this. Best friends Jane and Julia have easy, secure lives. Then their ex-lover decides to tun up and all hell lets loose. Old passions are revived, and the surface of their perfect lives begins to crack to show the rot underneath. As the cocktails flow and they become ever-drunker, the banter gets bitchy and cruel. Jealousy and temptation are the name of the game, and the result is utter chaos.

Coward wrote like a demon, outputting a constant stream of plays and songs through a sixty year writing career. Director Christopher Luscombe's production of The Rocky Horror Show has been running continuously for almost 20 years across the world, including a number of smash hit West End seasons. The signs are looking great, with a cast including Janie Dee as Julia Steroll, Alexandra Gilbreath as Jane Banbury, and Christopher Hollis as Bill Banbury. Fred Steroll is played by Richard Teverson, with Saunders played by Sarah Twomey, and Maurice Duclos by Graham Vick. Set Designer Simon Higlett and Costume Designer Fotini Dimou, along with Lighting Designer Oliver Fenwick, Sound Designer Adam Cork, Composer Nigel Hess and Movement expert Nicola Keen make up the creative team. Prepare for a masterpiece in razor sharp wit, dazzling dialogue, love, loyalty, and forbidden desire.
