Grace Pervades description

Take one world-class playwright, screenwriter, and director. Add two dazzlingly good actors. This is Grace Pervades, a new play by David Hare, starring Ralph Fiennes and Miranda Raison. The show lands in the capital after a 2025 world premiere at Theatre Royal Bath, a well-deserved transfer, and a treat for everyone who adores a compelling period drama inspired by a true story. Acting royalty Ralph Fiennes gave us Conclave, Harry Potter, James Bond, and Macbeth. He plays actor-manager Henry Irving. Miranda Raison (TV's Spooks, movies Widow's Walk and Breathe, theatre shows Anne Boleyn, The Winter’s Tale) plays Ellen Terry, the Victorian celebrity actor whose talent rocked Britain and North America. They worked together for twenty five years and had their fair share of artistic disagreements, as did Ellen's troubled yet brilliant children.

Directed by Jeremy Herrin (Long Day’s Journey Into Night), the set designer is Bob Crowley, and the costume designer is Fotini Dimou. The lighting designer is Peter Mumford, the sound designer is Elizabeth Purnell, and the composer is Paul Englishby. Casting director Jessica Ronane CDG joins associate director Joe Lichtenstein and movement director Lucy Cullingford to complete the creative team. The latest play from one of our greatest playwrights is bound to be a hit.
