Kathy and Stella Solve a Murder description

The true crime podcast made in Hull by BFFs Kathy and Stella is really quite bad. Success is a million miles away. But when their favourite author is murdered and they’re thrust into a thrilling whodunnit of their own, they sense it might go viral... as long as the murderer doesn’t kill again.

You’ll meet an eccentric crime-fighting duo as they put their friendship at risk to scoop a winning story, solve the case, and become global podcast superstars. If audience reactions are anything like they’ve been so far you’ll be laughing from beginning to end, a great comedy tonic in a crazy world.

Excellent musical theatre, talented performers and a peppy, propulsive, thrill-packed plot combine with a warm and witty heart to make it a winner. The show’s perfectly-pitched silliness is the icing on the cake.

An award winning Edinburgh Festival sell-out

Edinburgh audiences rate this show highly, as did those in Bristol and Manchester. The West End run promises to be just as popular. It won Musical Theatre Review’s Best Musical Award at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2022, the second won by the writers Jon Brittain and Matthew Floyd Jones, and the stars and creative team are something to be reckoned with.

Meet the talent

Bronté Barbé plays Kathy and Rebekha Hinds plays Stella, both reprising their Edinburgh, Bristol and Manchester roles. They’re joined by Imelda Warren-Green as Erica, also reprising her role.

Barbé won the Gyearbuor Asante Prize for Acting while training at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, and was one of the final 10 chosen for Andrew Lloyd Webber's Dorothy in Over The Rainbow. Her theatre credits include Newsies at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre.

Rebekah Hinds has worked on Oklahoma! at the Young Vic / West End and the world premiere of the Tom Jones musical What’s New Pussycat. She was The Girl in The Polka Dot Dress at the Birmingham Rep, appeared in Paradise at Hampstead Theatre, and in the Olivier Award-nominated The Government Inspector. TV-wise she’s been on-screen in Scarborough, Inside No. 9, and Shameless.

Imelda Warren-Green has appeared in TV’s legendary Doctor Who: Time Fracture. She graduated from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts with a first-class honours degree in Musical Theatre. Her theatre experience includes the role of Zo in Public The Musical, Kris in Spitfire at Charing Cross Theatre, and Miss California in the UK tour of Little Miss Sunshine.
