Lee Mead: Twenty Years in Technicolour description
About the Show
Lee Mead: Twenty Years in Technicolour brings Lee Mead back to the Adelphi Theatre, where his West End breakthrough came in the title role of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat after he won the BBC talent series Any Dream Will Do in 2007. Backed by a live band, and possibly joined by surprise guests, he sings his way through his career and tells the stories behind the songs.
The concert features numbers from Joseph, We Will Rock You, The Phantom of the Opera, Sister Act and Barnum, alongside songs made famous by George Michael, Tony Bennett and Bruno Mars, the artists who first inspired him to sing. It is part of his twentieth-anniversary year, which also includes a UK tour and a new book.
Cast and Creatives
The concert centres on Mead himself, performing with a live band. The musical director and any guest performers have not yet been announced.
Since Joseph, Mead has played Fiyero in Wicked, Emmett Forrest in Legally Blonde at the Savoy Theatre and Caractacus Potts in the touring Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, and appeared as Prince Charming in Cinderella at the London Palladium. On screen he played nurse Ben 'Lofty' Chiltern in the BBC's Casualty and Holby City.
