About Pretty Woman the Musical

If, like millions of us, you adored the classic 1990 film Pretty Woman, starring the lovely Julia Roberts, you'll love this smashing musical just as much... if not more! The music and lyrics are by the rock god Bryan Adams accompanies by the Canadian songwriter Jim Vallance, and there's a book by Garry Marshall and J. F. Lawton, both of whom also worked on the movie version.

What's the story of Pretty Woman the Musical?

The musical is based on the 1990 movie, written by Marshall and Lawton. The story stars a very beautiful, confident and cool Hollywood prostitute called Vivian Ward. The rich businessman Edward Lewis pays her to be his escort for a week and the couple, who are from radically different worlds, ultimately fall in love, the real thing. There's even a happy ending, which is great to know if you like to leave the theatre feeling buoyed up, joyful, and inspired.

Who is starring in Pretty Woman the Musical?

Aimie Atkinson stars as Vivian. She's a winner of the BBC Voice of Musical Theatre award and has graced the stage with performances in In the Heights, Aladdin, Legally Blonde, and the West End production of Six. Danny Mac plays Richard Gere's movie role as Edward, having wowed TV audiences in Hollyoaks and on Strictly Come Dancing. On stage he's delighted theatre audiences with roles in White Christmas and On The Town.
