Rowan Live description
About the Show
Rowan Live is a new theatre show in which Rowan Atkinson performs some of his best-known comedy sketches and characters on stage. The evening ranges across his career, from Mr Bean and Blackadder to favourites from Not the Nine O'Clock News, and adds new material created with long-term collaborators Richard Curtis, Ben Elton and Howard Goodall.
It is Atkinson's first comedy sketch show in the West End for forty years, and it returns to the sketches in which his best-known characters began. The show was developed in summer 2026 in front of a small audience, and it plays a limited season at the Gillian Lynne Theatre, with an opening night on Tuesday 16 February 2027.
Cast and Creatives
The show is directed by Raz Shaw, with music by Howard Goodall. Writer Richard Curtis, who first saw Atkinson on stage in 1976, and Ben Elton are among the collaborators behind the new material. It is presented by Playful Productions in association with PBJ Management.
Rowan Atkinson rose to national prominence on Not the Nine O'Clock News and went on to co-create and star in Blackadder and Mr Bean. His other characters include Johnny English, and his work is known to audiences around the world.
