About Standing at the Sky’s Edge

Great quality cheap tickets for Standing at the Sky’s Edge are yours on our site. This brilliant British musical is based on the seventh studio album from the English musician Richard Hawley, released in the UK in 2012 and attracting a nomination for the year’s Mercury Prize.

The resulting musical, which was awarded Best New Musical at the Olivier Awards, reveals what goes on at the Park Hill council estate. Referring to a real-life place in his native city, Sheffield, the location is Skye Edge, a hillside with awe-inspiring views over the city, where the estate once sat. Now the site has mostly been redeveloped.

Richard Hawley won an Olivier, alongside musical director Tom Deering, for Best Original Score or Orchestration. The widely-acclaimed book is written by Chris Bush and the show premiered at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre during 2019. After a successful run at the National Theatre in London, it’s due at the West End’s Gillian Lynne Theatre for February 2024.
