Christmas magic is unfolding on stage at the West End's Lyric Theatre! Welcome to The Gruffalo’s Child, a lovely festive treat based on the award-winning children's picture book by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. Lively songs, lots of laughs, and all sorts of cool characters tell a charming story, following the Gruffalo's Child as she disobeys her dad and goes off on her own for the adventure of a lifetime. Will she find her way through the dark, windy wood at night, in the snow? Who will she meet along the way? And does the scary Big Bad Mouse her dad warned her about actually exist?

Tall Stories has been creating magic for kids for almost thirty years, loved for their mix of brilliant songs, amazing puppetry, and quirky humour. In this production, Joe Lindley plays the Gruffalo and other animals. Hannah Miller is the Gruffalo’s Child, Sabrina Simohamed is the Narrator and Mouse, and Robin Harris is the Understudy. The fun is directed by Tall Stories’ co-founder Olivia Jacobs. First published in 2004, loved by millions of kids, and winner of the 2025 National Book Award for Children’s Book of the Year, it's a family show to remember.
