The Holy Rosenbergs description

When Ryan Craig's provocative play The Holy Rosenbergs was first staged in 2011, Gaza was in big trouble. Now Gaza is in even more trouble, and this marvellous play is just as relevant as ever, if not more so. Make your way to the Menier Chocolate factory for a major revival. The story's set in Edgware, London, where the Rosenberg family is heading for a crisis. The father David, is struggling to keep his catering business going, while his wife Lesley, does everything she can to hold the family together. Daughter Ruth, who works with the United Nations, is investigating war crimes in Gaza, while the eldest son, Danny is fighting for the Israelis in Gaza. Their brother won't join the family business; he's too busy boozing and fighting. Then tragedy strikes.

Faith, their identity, and the pressures of tradition join themes of individuality, the expectations of our communities, the responsibilities of family, and the consequences of standing up for our beliefs. British playwright, screenwriter, television, and radio writer Ryan Craig (What We Did To Weinstein, The Glass Room, Filthy Business) is loved and respected for his sharp dialogue and rich characterisation, skilled at tackling difficult topics with sensitivity and intelligence. Award-winning director Lindsay Posner has delighted audiences as a prominent British theatre director with all sorts of West End shows under his belt, along with opera and TV plays. That's what we call a match made in heaven!
