The Truth description

You like your comedy electrifying? This one's for you! The Truth is more than just a play. It's a story of deep insight, wicked humour, relationship politics, love affairs, friendship's limits, and the destructive nature of total honesty. Add a stellar comedy cast and you can see why it's hard to resist. The brilliant Stephen Mangan leads the cast, having aced a role in Mike Bartlett’s London production of Unicorn, a critically acclaimed piece of theatre. Comedy king Ardal O’Hanlon who gave us TV's Father Ted, My Hero and How To Get To Heaven From Belfast joins Mangan, along with Sarah Hadland (Miranda, Strictly Come Dancing, The Job Lot) and two-Olivier-winner Janie Dee (Follies).

This ultra-witty translation of the original play, which scored a huge hit at Wyndhams Theatre and the Menier Chocolate factory in 2016, is Directed by Lindsay Posner (A View From the Bridge), and adapted by Christopher Hampton (Les Liaisons Dangereuses). You'll meet two couples with secrets and a truth they don't want to face. The play explores themes of trust and its fragility, loyalty and how negotiable it can be, and the fact that most of us have something we'd prefer stayed hidden. A hilariously funny and surprising experience unfolds, a production you'll remember for a long time to come.
