Jesus Christ Superstar description
Sam Ryder stars in Jesus Christ Superstar at the London Palladium, a welcome return for this acclaimed Regent's Park Open Air Theatre production. Sam Ryder is ideal for the role with his angelic look and enormous, rich voice. He's a BRIT and Emmy-nominated, critically acclaimed singer, songwriter and musician, an icon on TikTok and the singer of Eurovision's Space Man. A number one Album, a number two single, billions of streams and more than 20 million followers mean he's a talent worth experiencing.
The musical made its debut on Broadway in 1971, hit the West End in '72, and stayed there for eight years. This particular production is also a bit of a legend in its own lifetime, winner of an Olivier for Best Musical Revival and just as popular over the Atlantic. The plot? Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber's story is about the last days of Jesus's life, told through the eyes of the traitor Judas. Tim Sheader directs with Choreography from Olivier winner Drew McOnie and Design by Tony and Olivier winner Tom Scutt. Tom Deering is the Musical Supervisor, Lee Curran is the Lighting Designer, Adam Fisher is the Sound Designer, Kate Waters is the Fight Director, and David Grindrod CDG is the Casting Director. An unforgettable West End musical treat.
