Witness for the Prosecution by Agatha Christie description
Billed as a bone chilling courtroom drama, Agatha Christie's Witness for the Prosecution is on stage in the perfect setting. The action feels real set against the backdrop of the Council Chamber of London's magnificent Edwardian Baroque County Hall, and the result is completely immersive. An ideal venue for a beloved Christie mystery! This is a gripping story of law and justice, packed with tension and disloyalty, following Leonard Vole, accused of killing a widow to get hold of her money. Can he convince the jury – and the audience – of his innocence? Only time will tell, but a shocking witness testimony only brings the hangman's noose ever closer.
Starting life as a short story in 1925, the stage version premiered in 1953. Since then it has been staged across the world, including the West End and Broadway. There's a huge cast on board including the Stenographer played by Sahar Awad, Mr Mayhew by Graham Seed, Romaine Vole by Lara Lemon, Greta / Miss Clegg by Sulin Hasso, and Inspector Hearne by Richard Keightley. We have Jolyon Young as the solicitor, Finn Torkington as Clerk of the Court, and Roger May as Sir Wilfrid Robarts Q.C. The list goes on, with Leonard Vole himself played by Charlie Preston. There's also a large creative team including Director Lucy Bailey, Designer William Dudley, Lighting Designer Chris Davey, Sound Designer Mic Pool and Casting Director Ellie Collyer-Bristow CDG.
