I have just been to the evening performance of Kinky Boots with my partner and daughter. We sat in seats H1/2/3 on the balcony.
We were extremely disappointed with the show because the sound was so bad. It was impossible to hear a lot of the dialogue, and what was being said in the songs remains a mystery. We contemplated leaving at the interval, but I complained to a member of staff who moved us to the front row of the balcony. The view was better, so thank you, but the sound just as bad.
We spoke with people around us and everyone said the same - they followed the plot only if they’d seen the film. One very noticeable thing was when someone cracked a funny line on stage - the laughter was much greater from down below in the theatre.
I don’t understand why it isn’t possible to provide speakers for the balcony so we can hear what is going on.
I feel as if we paid for something we didn’t receive and I would be grateful if you could refund us the ticket price. £60
